While searching for a Kipling bag, I stumbled upon the image of this amazing sketch of a Kipling duffle bag. I had to check out the site which published it. What I read was an eloquent, touching piece worth sharing with you.
John Steinbeck once wrote that some trips go on long after we've come back. Though i flew back from France 5 days ago, my bag is still in the middle of the apartment, half emptied. Not putting the bag away is a way to deny that the trip is over, that my grandfather passed away while i was there, and that my family is there while i am here. A couple of local newspapers lying on top of the bag bear the obituaries of my grandfather -- and putting those away would be moving on. I am not quite ready to do that.
